A Sneak Peak: Energetic Boundaries

Hey Reader,

Joy is building again. I feel it buzzing in my bones. Ok maybe that's the cappuccino, or maybe it's the cold weather, or the Christmas music. Mmmm, ok it's definitely all of these things.

I'm sitting at my favorite coffee shop in a cozy sweater with a bright red lip, and I am so excited about what I am creating that I could squeal with delight.

The Relaxed Woman is going live SOON. Do you want a sneak peak of some of the copy?

I told you we'll be exploring Energetic Boundaries during one of the sessions. Here's what I'm cooking up.

The relaxed woman is boundaried. She says, "No," generously, tenderly, and with her full chest. She takes up space. She knows how to anchor herself and breathe into her bones. She stands tall. Her energy is vibrant and electric. She is fully awake. She’s not carrying the residue of shit that isn’t hers. And in this space, she comes back home to herself. Her nervous system relaxes. She’s safe.

Ugh it's going to be so good. We are going to create ^^ THAT ^^ together. I am going to teach you how to anchor your energy, truly how to breathe into your bones, how to make your HRV go into a groovy, cozy, wave so that your energy can be felt, and dust the stagnant energy off the shelves so that you are standing in your power and yours only.

It's weird. It's wonderful. And it's science-backed. All of my favorite things.

AND this is only one of the six sessions.

So if you're feeling the opposite of relaxed this Monday morning, if you yelled at your kids before you got them out the door, if your nervous system is fried, you need a good cry, you don't even know what you want for yourself anymore, or you just want to be held in a community of women, THIS is for you.

Email me to get on the waitlist.

XO

SOMATIC TIP FOR BUSINESS:

energetic boundaries keep your team from burning out

Do you have your work email on your phone? How many times did you check it (or teams or slack) over the holiday break?

If you're squirming in your seat right now or feeling a bit attacked, sit with that discomfort.

Did you jump to justifying your why?

Ok, now go a little deeper with me.

How does your nervous system respond with every ping of email or message?

There's a growing body of research showing the impact on our cognitive function, sympathetic nervous system activation, and chronic stress and allostatic load simply by having your phone present -- not even checking it!

We're burning ourselves out.

A colleague recently shared a fascinating tidbit of information with me. When compared to the average person in the 1950s, we now consume in 24 hours more information than they would have in 30 YEARS!

Our nervous systems simply can't keep up with that.

So let this be a check-in. How do you want to feel this holiday season? How do you want your team to feel?

Maybe, it's time to leave your phone in the other room.

Start with 5 minutes. See if you can make it a full 24 hours.

Let me know how you feel when you do.

Somatic tip for life:
– your boundaries don't always have to be an electric fence

This is usually a good cue for me. If I'm zapping everyone around me, I've missed several opportunities to set a boundary and take care of myself.

My mentor, Jane, talks about how our boundaries help people find our edges so they aren't constantly bumping into us.

I like that idea. I can picture my energy as a bubble around myself. Is it vibrant? Are there any holes? Do I have space or have I let my bubble collapse around me?

(Ps. We'll be doing this work together in The Relaxed Woman)

I've found, often, clients (and myself) get mad at others, but really we need to re-ground in our energy. Use the prompts below to do a little energy audit.

Energy Audit

  • Who drains my energy the quickest? What does my body do around them?
  • Who nourishes me? How do I know?
  • Where in my life do I still “leak energy”?
  • What relationships feel like exhale? Which feel like contraction?
  • When do I take on emotions that don’t belong to me?
  • Where do I feel myself disappear or shrink in daily life?
  • When I think of my younger self, what boundaries did she never get to have?
  • Where in my life do I want to take up more space — physically, emotionally, energetically?
  • What part of me needs a firm “No, we’re not doing that anymore”?

It's time to come home to yourself.
